The benefits of CDs

Certificates of Deposit are an excellent, low-risk way to invest if you have funds that you will not need access to for a period of time. CDs typically offer a higher rate of return than traditional savings accounts and they are FDIC insured. Generally, the longer you invest your money, the higher interest rate you will receive. Once your CD matures, you may withdraw the balance in full with no further obligation to that financial institution. It's important to shop around to ensure you receive the highest interest rate available to you.
