Pioneer Services celebrates 75 years of providing responsible financial services
January 2, 2007
KANSAS CITY, Mo.
For three-quarters of a century, Pioneer Financial Services, Inc. (PFS) has offered responsible financial services to niche markets, starting with auto lending, then second mortgages and, for the past two decades, loans to the military community. In 2007, the company will honor this milestone by continuing to offer superior service to the military community, according to Chairman William Sullivan.
"My father started the company 75 years ago with a dedication to do what was right for the customer and to employ people with a passion for finding solutions," said Sullivan. "Those principles have led to decades of success, and have been vital in serving the military community."
The company started serving the military community in 1986, and while helping service members obtain loans remains a core part of the business, Pioneer Services Representatives also offer a variety of financial education programs. Among those programs are books, videos, certification classes, and specific ways to control spending, eliminate costly debt and begin saving for emergencies and retirement.
"Our associates are still the foundation of our longevity," said Sullivan. "They have created a culture that ensures success for both the company and our customers."
This culture has made PFS the employer, and provider, of choice in its industry. The company has been named one of the "Best Small & Medium Companies to Work for in America" two of the past three years by the Society for Human Resources Management, and won an American Business Award (known as a "Stevie") in 2006 for having the "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program." Last year also brought with it a pair of Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for marketplace ethics for two of its retail office and, in 2005, PFS was one of 15 national recipients of the Department of Defense Freedom Award for its support of associates serving the National Guard and Reserve.
"All of the recognition reinforces the fact that we are doing the right things, the right way," added Sullivan. "And as we mark this historic time in our company’s history, we will not only look back at our past accomplishments, but also to the bright future ahead."
