Pioneer Services prides itself on being an "employer of choice," offering unique benefits and a distinctive culture to its associates. And these were just some of the reasons Pioneer Services was named to Ingram's business magazine's 2009 list of "Best Companies to Work For."
Pioneer Services was recognized for its culture of empowerment, open and honest communication between executives and associates, and a host of perks (such as free soda, a workout room, and its ELITE associate recognition program). Ingram's judges were also impressed with the 16 hours of paid volunteer time off Pioneer Services provides to each associate, which fosters community involvement and volunteerism.
"We've been a great place to work for nearly 77 years, partly because we are such a values-based organization" said Tom Holcom, president of Pioneer Services. "And when those values are combined with great people offering superior products and services, you get the kind of sustained success we've enjoyed for decades."
Pioneer Services was named one of the "Best Companies to Work for in America" in 2004 and 2006 by the Society for Human Resource Management, and has won several Better Business Bureau awards for marketplace ethics. The company was also recognized in 2008 by the American Bankers Association, winning first place for its financial education materials.
