KANSAS CITY, Mo.
Pioneer Services, a Division of MidCountry Bank, celebrates its 80th year of service today. Founded June 7, 1932, today the company is one of the country's leading financial services providers to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
"This anniversary milestone speaks to the service, commitment, and dedication of all Pioneer Services' team members both today, and when this organization was founded more than 80 years ago," said Joe Freeman, President of Pioneer Services. "Pioneer Services has been able to achieve continued success by staying focused on our core values, always doing what's best for the customer, and recognizing the importance of supporting and giving back to the communities we serve."
Originally started as a family auto dealership in Kansas City, MO, the company has served niche markets for decades, and started exclusively serving the military community in 1986. The military lending team became a division of MidCountry Bank in 2007, and today helps military families with financial education, traditional loans, Certificates of Deposit, and savings accounts.
Pioneer Services has developed and maintains an award-winning comprehensive financial education program that includes free consultations, informative books and publications, and web-based learning centers for customers. The company is also committed to improving the quality of life for military families by giving back to the communities it serves through financial, philanthropic, and volunteer support. These efforts have been recognized on numerous occasions, including being honored as having the "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program" by the American Business Awards.
The strong team member culture has also made Pioneer Services an employer of choice, being named a "Best Company to Work for in America" by the Society of Human Resources Management, a "Champion of Business" by The Kansas City Business Journal, and a recipient of the Department of Defense "Freedom Award" for its support of team members in the National Guard and reserves, among others.
