KANSAS CITY, Mo.
As Hurricane Sandy combines with two other storms and batters the eastern United States, thousands families could very well find themselves in dire straits—not only will they have to deal with upended trees and damaged homes and property, they could also find themselves without a way to cover insurance deductibles and necessary expenses.
To help military families affected by the storm, Pioneer Services is offering its specialty Disaster Relief Loan for those who have immediate needs. The loan provides up to $1,000 interest free for 90 days, and is being offered to military families living in a federally or state-declared disaster area. A rate of 9.95% APR would apply after the interest free period.*
The Disaster Relief Loan was created several years ago when some military families were turning to high-interest debt in order to get emergency funds after a particularly brutal hurricane hit the southern U.S. As a response, the company came up with a loan that served as a stop-gap, providing families with cash in just a few hours, but without high rates or any fees.
“There is no excuse for a family to deal with a financial disaster after going through a natural one,” said Joe Freeman, president of Pioneer Services, “That’s why we created the Disaster Relief Loan: to serve as a responsible alternative to short-term needs right after an emergency. Because there is no interest for 90 days, it’s perfect for those who need money to take care of their bills between now and when their insurance or other payments arrive.”
