HolidaySpendingPlanner.org Helps Military Families This Holiday Season
Pioneer Services’ Resource Page Features Helpful Tips and Tools for Smart Holiday Spending
November 23, 2015
The holidays are a time of family, friends, and fun. Far too often, however, they are quickly followed by piles of debt and bills. To help service members and military families spend smart and not get in over their heads, Pioneer Services, a Division of MidCountry Bank, has provided a number of spending tips and budgeting tools at HolidaySpendingPlanner.org. It is the fifth year for the site, which is part of Pioneer Services’ award-winning financial education program.
The free website has a number helpful blogs and guides, links to online holiday budgeting calculators, and even a section on holiday giving with some suggested organizations. It also highlights a blog and infographic about Pioneer Services’ recent Military Holiday Survey, which asked military members questions about their holiday spending and indicated both some positive and troubling trends.
“While many people budget for the holidays, they can sometimes get carried away—and don’t even realize it until the bills start rolling in,” said Allen Usry, retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, and military relations manager for Pioneer Services. “So the information on HolidaySpendingPlanner.org is all designed for them to shop and spend smart this season, from tips on how to buy on a budget, to calculators where they can completely manage their holiday spending. And all for free.”
