Pioneer Services has teamed up with the National Military Family Association (NMFA) in 2018 to help support this military advocacy group’s Military Spouse Scholarship program, which provides $500 and $1,000 scholarships for career funding or educational degrees. Having served military families for more than 30 years, Pioneer is pleased to be able to assist NMFA in providing military spouses around the country with new professional, educational, and employment opportunities.

Several of NMFA’s first round 2018 scholarship winners were from the Colorado Springs, CO region, which includes Fort Carson, Peterson AFB, and other installations. On Friday, May 11th, which also happened to be 2018 National Military Spouse Appreciation Day, Pioneer and NMFA representatives had the privilege of making a presentation to military spouse recipients at the Colorado Springs USO facility on Fort Carson.

Local Pioneer Services office manager Jeff Major and Allie Jones, NMFA’s Program Manager for Spouse Education and Employment, were joined by family members and other attendees at this small, informal event. The recipients were appreciative and the hosts were pleased to make a difference in so many lives.

There are two separate NMFA Military Spouse Scholarship applications submission periods annually, typically from November through January and May through June. Pioneer was proud to take part in this initial presentation of 2018 scholarship recipients, and is also helping promote the next application submission period, which runs from May 1 through June 30, 2018. For more information, or to submit an application, visit MilitaryFamilies.org.

Additional 2018 NMFA scholarship recipients will be announced in the near future, and Pioneer looks forward to continuing to support this program that is making such a positive impact on the lives of our nation’s military spouses.
