ABOUT NEW JERSEY
New Jersey is truly unique. From playing a central role in our nation’s founding, to the infamous Hindenburg disaster at Lakehurst Naval Air Station, to being home to Bruce Springsteen, it has almost always been at the center of the action.
Several key Revolutionary War battles occurred on New Jersey soil, including the Battle of Trenton. The state was also vital to the Allies' success in WWII, thanks to its many shipyards and Millville Airport, which served as a gunnery range for fighter pilots. In fact, New Jersey was home to the most dramatic WWII event in the Northeast when in 1945, a German U-boat was sunk just off its coast. The state is now home to more than 50,000 military personnel and their families.
