We got in the holiday spirit by giving away nearly $7,000 in commissary gift certificates to military families. Dubbed the "Seasoned Greetings" program, the certificates help military families purchase food for holiday meals and are just part of our nearly $20,000 in holiday giving.

As a way to thank the men and women of the Armed Forces for their dedication and service, this Veteran's Day several Pioneer Services offices gave away a total of 700 tickets to Flags of Our Fathers, a film USA Today called "perhaps the finest modern film about World War II."

The Pioneer Services office located outside of Fort Gordon, Ga., was named the winner of the inaugural "Torch Award" handed out by the Central Savannah River Area Better Business Bureau (BBB) Chapter in Augusta, Ga. The Torch Award recognizes businesses that exemplify BBB standards for ethical and honorable practices that are in the best interests of the customer.

For Lance Corporal Gregory Hart and Sergeant Joshua Gunlock, both Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., going to a NASCAR race has been a dream. So when leadership at Camp Pendleton chose them as the most recent winners of the Pioneer Services "Pole Position Awards," they almost couldn't believe it.

Our leadership has fostered an entrepreneurial spirit throughout the company, helping to create an industry leader in military-specific financial services. And two of them were rewarded for their vision by being named Ernst and Young's "Entrepreneur of the Year for Social Responsibility" (EOY) for the Central Midwest Region.

We were named one of the 25 "Best Small & Medium Companies to Work for in America" for the second time in three years. The award was presented at the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM) Annual Conference & Expo in Washington, DC.

Pioneer Services received a Stevie Award for the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program last night at the Fourth Annual American Business Awards banquet in New York City. Called "the business world's own Oscars" by The New York Post, the awards are the only national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.

This survivor of an IED has shown the resolve that deserves to be rewarded—in this case, with a trip to a NASCAR race at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.

For Sgt. Mario Land and Pfc. Kyle Hladik, the weekend of May 12 was yet another reward for the pair of Marines. Land, named NCO of the Quarter, and Hladik, the Marine of Quarter, were able to get a unique perspective of a NASCAR Busch Series race as the latest winners of the Pioneer Services' "Pole Position Awards."

We received special recognition from Angel Flight America (AFA) for our extraordinary contribution to helping military families in need of charitable air transportation. The honor was received during a banquet attended by military personnel and several members of Congress on May 15, in Washington D.C.

Joe Freeman was honored as one of Kansas City’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2006 by Ingram’s Magazine. Each year, Ingram’s recognizes the top individuals in the community who have exhibited the leadership, work ethic, and community involvement that positions them to be one of Kansas City’s leaders of the future.

U.S. Army Specialists Randy Wells and Dan Higdon are both fans of speed—Wells used to race go-karts, and Higdon is restoring a classic Mustang. So when they were chosen as the first winners of the Pioneer Services "Pole Position Award" for 2006, they were both ecstatic for the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at NASCAR.

Pioneer Services has teamed up with USA Cares, a non-profit organization that helps military families with emergency expenses, to provide referrals to those military families that qualify for their assistance.

As a way to help offset expenses during this holiday season, we provided deserving service members with more than $43,000 in prizes and donations. The premier program conducted in several Pioneer Services offices was a "Holiday Giveaway" drawing in which seven lucky service members won $1,000 in American Express(R) gift cards.
