Pioneer supports Veterans Day/ 100th Armistice Anniversary at National WWI Museum

Provides free museum entry for veterans and active-duty military November 9-11th

Pioneer Services, a Division of MidCountry Bank, is proud to provide free entry for all veterans and active-duty military at the National World War I Museum and Liberty Memorial Tower in Kansas City, MO on Veterans Day weekend, November 9-11th, 2018.  Headquartered in Kansas City, Pioneer Services has been providing financial services to military families for more than 30 years.

The company is pleased to partner with the National World War I Museum, and its iconic Liberty Memorial Tower, paying respect to the veterans and military families that have so proudly served this nation.

In addition to the Veterans Day events, the museum is also celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month (November 11, 1918). This includes an Armistice Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. CT on Sunday, November 11th in the Memorial Courtyard where representatives from more than 10 nations around the world will be present for readings of poems and letters from soldiers, musical performances and more.

At 11:00 a.m. on November 11th, the Bells of Peace will toll at the Liberty Memorial and simultaneously at other events around the world, commemorating the 11th hour.  At 2:00 p.m., more than 100 Walk of Honor granite bricks will be dedicated during a special ceremony, adding to the more than 11,000 bricks in place today that recognize those who served in World War I, to military veterans in general, and to honor civilian friends, family, or organization.

To mark the centennial of the Armistice, the entire north facade of the Liberty Memorial along Pershing Road is awash with more than 5,000 giant poppies — nearly 55 million pixels — every night from Nov. 2 through Armistice Day on Sunday, Nov. 11th until 1:00 am.  After World War I, the poppy flower became a symbol of remembrance, hope and resilience as it adorned the battlefields where so many had perished.

Admission to the Museum and Memorial Tower is free for all veterans and active-duty military personnel from November 9-11th, 2018 thanks to Pioneer Services' gifting and support.  For more information, go to
